We helped the orchards of a South Moravian monastery
22. - 24.2.2019
First Tamjdem Weekend event of 2019 is behind us. And we succeeded again! This time we traveled to a beautiful place with even more beautiful name – Porta Coeli / Heaven’s Gate/, which is located near the city Tišnov, in Předklášteří village. 13 volunteers took part in this event and we have done 91 hours of work alltogether.
During a sunny Saturday our mission was to help to clean up an orchard and a garden which belong to a monastery. Therefore, most of us spent the day collecting and cutting the branches which we burnt and by that we produced an ecological fertilizer. The smaller yet courageous group worked hard on disassembling and disposing of the old greenhouse. As thank you for our help, the great and generous host Tomáš organized for us a tour inside of the church and monastery as well as in the surroundings of Předklášteří village. We ended our Weekend event with a delicious vegan lunch which was prepared for us by our new friend Salvatore from Italy who took care of our hungry bellies during the entire weekend. What a great way of spending a weekend!
Thanks to all the volunteers for your help and special thanks to Michal for great photos. To see more of them, take a look at our Facebook album.
We’d also like to thank all the donors from Giving Tuesday 2018, since your donations made this Weekend event possible.
